DEXA Body Composition Scan

Not just for bone density, DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) is the gold standard for measuring body composition with precision. Unlike basic bathroom scales or handheld devices, a DEXA scan shows you exactly how much of your weight is fat, lean mass, and bone—and where it's distributed throughout your body. The distribution is important, especially with visceral fat in the belly, because it is metabolically dysfunctional, inflammatory, and causes serious disease, even if your BMI is normal.

DEXA body composition is great for those who like to see how they stack up, those who crave objective data they can track, and anyone beginning their fitness journey, serving as a baseline. It's also great for people trying to lose weight while resistance training; often, the scale keeps reading the same weight, but on DEXA we see fat mass going down and muscle mass going up, which reassures patients that they are in fact on the right track, despite the scale. Another use case: wildly popular GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic are known to cause significant muscle loss in addition to fat loss. With DEXA we can monitor that to be sure that the treatment is doing more good than harm, and modify training and nutrition programs as needed.

Whether you're training hard, optimizing your health, or tracking fat loss, DEXA provides the objective data you need to measure real progress. Get clarity. Set smarter goals. Fine-tune your fitness and longevity strategy with unmatched accuracy.

Despite using X-rays, DEXA exposes you to less radiation than you would get flying on an airplane flight or spending a day in New York City.
